About Nita Whitaker

It's difficult to put Nita into one category. Raised in church music, trained in classical, honed in pop, Nita's voice is a remarkable instrument that's difficult to define. But when you hear her power chops and sweet bell tones, you know you are in the presence of greatness. Having recorded three independent CD's Nita continues to pull all the elements of her training together into a fusion of pop, soul/ R&B, with a splash of gospel. A former Miss Louisiana, her incredible voice carried her to Female Grand Champion on Star Search. Nita is comfortable singing in any setting, from the theater stage, to intimate club to the arena stages, television and movies. She has sung with Andrea Bocelli and Josh Groban, performed on stages with Stevie Wonder, Natalie Cole, Bette Middler, Celine Dion and Barbara Streisand. Having David Foster as one of her mentors, she has performed at countless benefits, political and corporate events, and often performs a one-woman show in cabarets. A work still unwritten, Nita continues to hone her writing skills and continues to record and perform. The best is yet to come. Artist Website
