The Marvelous Wonderettes are back as they create a rockin’ 60s party to celebrate the holidays with friends and family! Winter Wonderettes is the holiday sequel to the smash off-Broadway hit created by Roger Bean.
With show-stopping vocals and signature four-part harmonies, Misty Cotton, Julie Dixon Jackson, Bets Malone and Darcie Roberts bring a delightful Wonderette spin to your holiday favorites!
MISTY COTTON performed the role of Missy in the off-Broadway production of The Marvelous Wonderettes. Her Broadway and National Tour credits include Ellen in Miss Saigon, Eponine in Les Miserables and the Narrator in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat opposite Donny Osmond. She won Ovation, Garland and Robby awards for her role as Violet in the Los Angeles production of Side Show, and the Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle Award for her role as Petra in A Little Night Music at South Coast Repertory.
BETS MALONE not only originated the role of Suzy in the first workshop of The Marvelous Wonderettes, but was a part of the critically acclaimed Los Angeles production, then traveled with it to the successful New York production and finally recorded the Original Cast Album. She has been seen in four of Roger Bean’s original musicals and choreographed his Route 66 for Milwaukee Repertory Theatre. Her vocal talents can be heard as Talulah the monkey in Barbie as the Island Princess. Her longest run to date…wife of Director/Actor Steven Glaudini.
DARCIE ROBERTS has appeared as Cindy Lou in Southern California productions of The Marvelous Wonderettes including Laguna Playhouse, Musical Theatre West, The Norris Theatre and Cabrillo Music Theatre. She has also starred in Roger Bean's The Andrews Brothers in several LA area theatres. Roberts’ credits include 4 Broadway shows, 5 National Tours, numerous regional shows, 2 kids, and 1 husband!
JULIE DIXON JACKSON originated the role of Betty Jean in both The Marvelous Wonderettes and Winter Wonderettes at the El Portal Theatre in Los Angeles. Most recently she played Lois in the West Coast premiere of Breaking Up Is Hard To Do at the Cabrillo Theatre. She won an Ovation and Garland Award for her performance as Daisy Hilton in the Los Angeles premiere of Side Show. Dixon Jackson was seen as Doris in Cole Porter’s Gay Divorce at Carnegie Hall and she spent a year on the National Tour of Jesus Christ Superstar.
BRIAN WILLIAM BAKER provided musical arrangements and supervision for the off-Broadway production of The Marvelous Wonderettes as well as musical and co- vocal arrangements for Winter Wonderettes and music direction for the studio cast recording. He was conductor for William Finn's Falsettos at LA Theatreworks for National Public Radio and Music Director for the National Tour of Always, Patsy Cline starring Sally Struthers. Baker’s next project will be music supervision for the cast recording of One Way Ticket to Hell.
ROGER BEAN created and directed the long-running off-Broadway and Los Angeles productions of The Marvelous Wonderettes. Mr. Bean received two Los Angeles Ovation Award nominations for Best Director of a Musical for both The Marvelous Wonderettes and Winter Wonderettes. In 2007 The Marvelous Wonderettes received the Los Angeles Ovation Award for Best Musical. In New York City The Marvelous Wonderettes received a 2009 Drama League Award nomination for Distinguished Production of a Musical, as well as a Broadway.com Audience Award nomination for Favorite New off-Broadway Musical. Having directed numerous productions of The Marvelous Wonderettes throughout the U.S., Mr. Bean will also direct the upcoming National Tour (2011-12).
