Anne Kerry Ford,a native of Texas, graduated from The Juilliard School when she was only twenty years old and played leading roles in theater throughout the U.S. before being cast in her first starring role in a Broadway musical, playing Grace Farrell in "Annie" in 1982. This lead to an opportunity to perform at the White House for President Reagan, and later she sang for Yitzakh Shamir for the fortieth birthday of Israel. As she continued to work in regional theater (in everything from Shakepeare to Ionesco to Arthur Miller to musical comedies), she also began working in film: playing Dudley Moore's wife in "Lovesick", and also appearing with Michael Keaton in "Clean and Sober", and later in Peter Weir's "Fearless". She starred in the Olympic Arts Festival production of "Homesteaders" in Los Angeles, appeared on the daytime soap "Days of Our Lives", made numerous guest appearances on series television, and joined singer Amanda McBroom in the original production in Chicago of "Harry Chapin, Lies and Legends" (also recording the cast album of that show). Returning to Broadway in 1989, Anne appeared in "The Threepenny Opera" with Sting and Maureen McGovern. As a singer, she often performs with her husband, renowned guitarist and four-time Grammy nominee, Robben Ford, who also produced her first solo CD, "In the Nest of the Moon". The L.A. Times called this recording, "An impressive debut CD...Simply a celebration of the American popular song." Anne has been collaborating with acclaimed pianist John Boswell since 1997, when she presented a tribute to Stephen Sondheim and his mentor, Oscar Hammerstein in Los Angeles, San Francisco and New York. This show led to the release of a second CD entitled "Something Wonderful", which The L.A. Weekly called,"an earful of some of the best interpretations of both Hammerstein and Sondheim". Anne is delighted to have been the vocalist in a celebration of Kurt Weill's one-hundredth birthday in 2000 with The West German Radio Orchestra's Big Band in Dusseldorf and Cologne, Germany. These concerts were under the musical direction of Roger Kellaway and featured Robben Ford on guitar. She reprised this concert with an American big band in 2001, opening the season at the John Anson Ford Amphitheater in L.A. In April of 2005 the multimedia web page www.sunsetstrip.com will be launched and Anne and John Boswell are co-hosting a web broadcast called "Great Singers, Great Songs." She continues to perform in cabaret rooms and concert halls across the country, including Blues Alley in Washington DC, Danny's in New York, Sculler's in Boston, The Plush Room in San Francisco, and venues in the Los Angeles area where she currently resides. Anne is delighted to be featured in the upcoming documentary "Night and Day", a film by Cheryl E.Grant about cabaret.
