Award winning singer/songwriter Amanda McBroom (THE ROSE) pays vocal tribute to her songwriting inspiration, France’s most famous balladeer of the 60’s ,Jacqes Brel, with this collection of 12 classic and rare songs.
Amanda was introduced to the music of Brel when she starred in the off-Broadway production of JACQUEL BREL IS ALIVE AND WELL AND LIVING IN PARIS. She has performed his music across the country and around the world.
Included in this collection are some of his greatest songs…NE ME QUITTE PAS, MARIEKE, LA VALSE A MILLE TEMPS(CAROUSEL),and some of his lesser known but equally brilliant compositions…CA VA, YOU DON’T FORGET THE PAST, GIRL IN AN ARMCHAIR.
Collaborating with her musician/producers Michele Brourman and Stephan Oberhoff, and with the musical brilliance of such renowned artists as film composer/ horn virtuoso Mark Isham and guitarist Paul Viapiano, Amanda has created a new voice for this French master. With the discovery of new translations of his work, and exquisite new arrangements of his more familiar material, Amanda has brought the songs of Jacques Brel into the 21st Century.
A feast for the ears and the heart!
